Tổng Lãnh Sự Hoa Kỳ tại Sài gòn Việt Nam Lê Thành Ȃn là viên chức Ngoại Giao HK cao cấp nhất từ 38 năm qua đã đến thăm viếng Nghῖa Trang Quȃn Ɖội Biên Hòa vào ngày 6 tháng 3 2013 vừa qua. Có lẽ cs VN, nhất là các viên chức cao cấp các quận huyện Bình Dương biết rõ chuyến đi này, nên chúng cấp tốc làm bàn thờ tạm thời trước Nghῖa Dũng Ɖài vì bàn thờ này chỉ mới bắt đầu “dàn dựng” chỉ thời gian ngắn một hai hôm trước khi nhóm Nguyễn Hoàng Vi thuộc blog Dân Làm Báo đến tảo mộ các tử sῖ QLVNCH ngày 02/02/2013. Lưu ý là nhóm các bạn trẻ này không thắp nhang ở Nghῖa Dũng Ɖài. Tức là csVN phải làm dàn dựng bàn thờ tạ thời này trước cả hơn tháng từ đầu tháng 2, 2013 đến 6 tháng 3, 2013 để chờ Tổng Lãnh Sự HK đến.

Chuyến đi của Ông TLS Lê Thành Ȃn viếng thăm Nghῖa Trang là một nghῖa cử cao đẹp. Trong bài viết này chúng ta biết hai vợ chồng Ông đều sinh ra và lớn lên ở VN. Ông tốt nghiệp kỹ sƯ điện tại Washington University năm 1976 cho thấy Ông có thể sinh khoảng 1956 và như thế rõ ràng Ông đã hiểu rất nhiều về hoàn cảnh lịch sử Quân Lực Việt Nam Cộng Hòa.

Hãy xem những hình ảnh chụp cho thấy sự hiểu biết, đường hoàng, uy nghi khi đi lại và tinh thần “nghῖa dũng” của Ông khi thắp nhang tưởng niệm các chiến sῖ QLVNCH vị quốc vong thȃn trước Nghῖa Dũng Ɖài. Lưu ý là trên đường đi đến Nghῖa Dũng Ɖài ông khoát trên vai chiếc áo veston, nhưng khi lên bậc thềm Nghῖa Dũng Ɖài thắp nhang là ông đã mặc áo lên người rồi.

Một điểm không kém quan trọng là tên Ông (first name) không phải là tên Mỹ.

Thời gian phục vụ tại VN là 3 năm, và như vậy Ông sẽ mãn nhiệm vào tháng 8, 2013.

Ɖȃy là một mẫu người hết sức thông thái, đạo đức, can đảm, và yêu chuộng công lý. Chúng ta chức Ông thành công trong sự nghiệp và sẽ là Ɖại Sứ Hoa Kỳ tại Việt Nam trong tương lai.

An Le, a Senior Foreign Service Officer with the rank of Minister Counselor, arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on August 6, 2010, for a three-year assignment as Consul General. A native of Virginia, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1976 and a Master of Science in Engineering Administration in 1978, both from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He joined the Foreign Service in 1991, after having worked as a civil servant with the U.S. Department of the Navy for 15 years.

During a 35-year career as a U.S. public servant, An Le has won a number of awards, including the 1990 Federal Engineer of the Year Award, the Secretary’s Award for Excellence, a number of Meritorious Step Increases (MSIs) and several Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards. He was promoted to the Senior Foreign Service in 2001. In 2006, he received the Department of State’s highest management achievement award – The Luther I. Replogle Award for Management Improvement – for significantly increasing the effectiveness of the Department in fulfilling its foreign affairs responsibilities.

An Le has had broad experience in dealing with current economic, political and security issues across the Asia region. His overseas assignments have included Beijing (1991-1994), Tokyo (1994-1997), Kuala Lumpur (1997-2001), Singapore (2001-2004), Seoul (2004-2007), and Paris (2007-2010). Throughout his Foreign Service career, An Le has worked closely with the American business community to address issues of concern to American investors, business persons, and families working and living abroad. One of his chief interests has been to anticipate and plan for the educational needs of American expatriate families. During his tenure in Paris, An Le completed the first-ever public-private partnership in the Department of State to modernize the historic Hotel de Talleyrand, a USG-owned property in central Paris, preserving that structure while transforming it into a modern Class A office space.

An and his wife Tam, both born and raised in Vietnam, have three children.
